About 20% of the drinking water from networks in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes disappears into the ground. This is probably a minimum. The networks are still largely too little followed and too little renewed. However, according to the South-East Canalisers Union, the rate of leakage from drinking water networks in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes could reach 40%, due to the lack of rapid enough renewal of the networks:

Regulation

The European Commission has just published its 10th report on the implementation of the Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive, which reports an overall improvement in European cities, while highlighting different levels of success according to the Member States. The report is part of the Commission’s efforts to achieve the “zero pollution” objective and comes ahead of the chemicals strategy that will be adopted in the coming weeks:

Financing

Four months after the end of containment, the pipe companies have gradually resumed their sites. In the meantime, the Rhône Méditerranée Corse water agency has not forgotten them in its rebound plan by allocating 180 million euros to the communities in charge of water, starting in June; the State either with the 80 million euros of the recent recovery plan:
