Technology

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) has selected SMEs and start-ups offering solutions at an advanced stage of development in 15 European countries, to participate in the EIT Community Water Scarcity initiative. The selected companies have the potential to improve the efficiency and sustainability of production processes in European industry. They will be eligible for prizes of up to 30,000 euros to test their solution with end customers. Companies or institutions interested in testing innovative solutions will be able to participate in a series of meetings to be held between September and November:

Regulation

In order to increase the capacity for action of municipalities and groups of municipalities in charge of the drinking water service, these provisions allow the administrative authority to establish, for their benefit, a right of pre-emption of agricultural land located in drinking water catchment areas. This right allows them to preferentially acquire the land on the perimeter concerned. This right should make it possible to accelerate the installation of agricultural practices favorable to the protection of water resources. It does not call into question the agricultural destination of the pre-empted land:

Financing

Governor Kathy Hochul announced that the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation has approved nearly $70 million to help 11 municipalities advance critical infrastructure projects that protect or improve water quality:
